Transport

ECHO’s Transport Services can take clients to:

  • medical and specialist appointments
  • shopping (individually or group shopping bus)
  • social appointments
  • group outings

Our trained volunteers offer a personal service, escorting the client into and out of appointments. We run shopping bus services each week to nearby shopping malls, and our volunteers help clients to take their shopping inside when they get home. One-on-one shopping services are usually carried out by a support worker.

If you need a transport booking, please provide at least 7 days’ notice (10 days if you need to travel near a public holiday).

CHSP (Commonwealth Home Support Programme) clients:

If you’re funded under the CHSP, organise transport by calling 9271 7011, Monday to Thursday from 9am to 12.30pm. You can also email us at transport@echocommunity.org.au

HCP (Home Care Package) clients:

ECHO clients are now eligible to use the Taxi User Subsidy Scheme (TUSS) for transport services. This service is provided by Black & White Cabs for HCP clients who need additional transport options to those provided by ECHO’s volunteers. Talk to your client advisor about how the service works, including payment and the use of cab vouchers.
